Today we release CapaInstaller 6.4 – we welcome state-of-the-art peering technology that has found its way to CapaInstaller OS Deployment
The release of the newest version of CapaInstaller practically eliminates the need for expensive servers — bid welcome to CapaInstaller 6.4.
Our CapaInstaller agent has been using peering technology for sharing software packages between endpoints for many years.
With CapaInstaller 6.4, the same state-of-the-art peering technology has found its way to CapaInstaller OS Deployment — and, in a snap of the fingers, it has drastically reduced the need for distribution servers.
How it is done:
Installation of images with CapaInstaller OS Deployment — step by step:
- OS Deployment searches for images and drivers in the local cache
- OS Deployment searches for images and drivers on endpoints in the local network
- If OS Deployment does not find the required images or drivers, it will automatically download them from the OS Deployment server
Once the primary endpoint has downloaded images and drivers, it will share the files to the endpoints in the local network requesting them.
